That interview and review from Holland is easily the best so far. I like reviews that go into some detail about what the songs actually sound like. And refreshing to get Green talking about such things as the state of pop music rather than darts and the cottage in Wales.

I like the idea of White Bread being Green's "no-soul" food. Perhaps when combined with Black Beer it becomes his brain food, because white bread plus black beer equals grey matter...

Fab site ... and what a terrific interview in Time Out magazine. I'm interested in the Christopher Norris anecdote, for obvious reasons. My namesake, the professor, also wrote a book about Jacques Derrida, which also links into Green's interest in this famous philosopher. On the strength on the Songs to Remember track recommendation and the name coincidence, I read Prof. Norris's Jacques Derrida book a few years ago -- not someone I'd have picked to read otherwise, iI's really interesting to see how these ideas have influenced Green's lyrics. Derrida writes partly about what's going on in the margins and the spaces of a text being as important (if not more so) than the words themselves. I'm sure that Green's lyrics could be looked at in this way also, though Green himself would be aware of this as he wrote them ... And Miles Davis was a pea from the same musical pod, but that's another story ...
