Anyone know/think that the call for the Hollis to “come out” on the boom bom bap is a reference to Talk Talk?
I was thinking the same thing. But it might also be some hiphop reference maybe. I am no hiphop expert, so there you go…
Given that Green sings the entire track list of Run DMC’s debut album, “RUN-D.M.C” in the song, and the fact that Run DMC hail from Hollis in Queens, New York, and have songs called “Christmas In Hollis” and “Hollis Crew” (on the aforementioned Run DMC debut album and part of that final verse in Boom Boom Bap) and mention Hollis in numerous songs, I’d say that it’s another Run DMC reference :)
