Peter, Green is a private individual, you dont "own" him. Why do some fan(atics) get so obsessive. If you had a nice evening anyway why are you switching?

I must say I am rather angry about this. I got in about 11.30 from a nice evening out with friends to see the announcement about this gig on this site, and after my initial dismay about not knowing sooner, I decided I would try to check it out since I am fortunate enough to live close by, albeit a (brisk) 20-minute walk. Needless to say by the time I got there it was over, so I find myself asking: who is actually served by such guerilla gigs at this point in Scritti Politti's career, apart from guest list whores and the usual music biz pondlife? I mean, what would be the problem with announcing this via the mailing list? Even though I truly love this band, I don't feel as a 'fan' I am owed anything in particular - that would be a pretty dangerous conceit - but the implication seems to be that I am expected to be happy to pay £18 to see the band on tour, as per the mailing list notification, but am not sufficiently deserving to know about such events as this. I assume (hope) Green has got nothing to do with such shoddiness, but right now I'm feeling pretty f*cked off about this level of disregard.

Anyone any experience with buying tickets @ticketmaster.co.uk? It seems to me only UK or Irish residents can buy on-line. Or am I doing something terribly wrong here?

Hi... We have spent many geeky hours in front of the computer finding out who is a friend of ours who lives in London... so... we would like to invite YOU to a couple of shows we're doing in the next week or so.

Please please please come along and see us, especially if you haven't been before. You won't regret it! We're not shit unlike most bands haha.

This friday (1st) we're playing at The Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes at the launch party of a new literary magazine, Bad Idea. See the link on our page to their myspace. We're onstage at 10pm and will be followed by Mercury Prize nominee and all-round musical legend Scritti Politti! Come before nine if you want to get in we reckon...
