Scritti Politti in session for Marc Riley on BBC6

Today on BBC6 Scritti Politti had a session with full band! Mark Riley had a natter with Green and they played After 6, apparently the new single and Dr. Abernathy. From this place i’d like to thank the BBC for their excellent listen again service. Sweet.

Wow. Green was really on top of his game on this one. Not only did he and the band sound stupendous (especially on Dr. Abernathy), he held his own with the wacky morning DJ. For a guy who claims to be uncomfortable meeting people, he sure knows how to fake it in the studio. On air, he came off as everything we fans believe him to be: articulate, intelligent, funny and exceptionally quick witted. Reminds me of the lyrics from “Locked”: “Stepping out each morning, I smile and play the part, of someone strong and smart. It’s make believing. It’s a living.” Fortunately, he’s also made it his credo to be honest to a fault. So when I hear him say this is his best year ever, I have to believe there’ll be more good days–and more goodmusic–to come from Green.

Agreed but don’t knock Marc Riley , he’s a good dj! Not “whacky morning” but more “befuddled early evening” !!
And thankfully he’s not Steve Wright……
