Scritti Politti’s Green Garside chats with Charles in tonight’s opening programme and performs some of his work. Other featured music includes Nigel Kennedy performing After The Rain, Richard Strauss’s Freundliche Vision, sung by Elizabeth Schwartzkopf, Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, Mozart’s Overture from The Abduction Of The Seraglio, Björk’s The Boho Dance and JS Bach’s Prelude In D Minor, performed by Charles.
Track listing on the Don Letts show mentions a Scritti track called ‘Candyman’. Is this new, does anyone know, or a typo/version of ‘Mystic Handyman’?

No, Jason, he played the album version of ‘Mystic Handman’. However, Charles Hazlewood was interviewed by Simon Mayo on Radio 5 yesterday (Tuesday) and said they’d be two brand new Scritti tracks on the show you mentioned.
Was at Bristol earlier, and have to say it was a pretty special event IMHO. Though just a 4-piece with no drums or 2nd guitar, everyone seemed pretty relaxed considering they’d only had one rehearsal and played a set which included 5 new songs, one of which Green claimed to have finished in the dressing room before coming out (hmmm…). Great sound though, and Green’s voice hasn’t sounded better. Two of the new songs were premiered in the radio session a couple of weeks back (Unfrozen and Forgiven) and were rather affecting live, but the other three were frankly amazing. Two very hip-hop inspired grooves – albeit with no rapping – full of Green’s trademark plaintiveness, Robert E Lee was particularly stunning, with a wonderful loping rhythm and climbing melody that I didn’t want to end. The other was in the quiet, folky vein that I suspect is Green’s default style, and was simply gorgeous.

The vocals were so pretty last night. I can’t find my way round that set list but one of the newest new songs just soared.
I can confirm that Green was indeed finishing writing the lyrics and melody to “Robert” just a few minutes before we went onstage!
