Hey James!!

I too had frequently viewed your site in the past and loved it. Maybe you can contribute some of that here, like some of the pics of releases and posters you had were great. Great to see you are still around...

Hi James
Yes, I was another reader of the fanzine - found them all by accident a few days ago, in fact! One of the best-looking 'zines of the era - and a great resource for sheer quantity of archive interviews from every era. I have the T-shirt and the cassette you produced as well - that was a great set-up you had going that sustained some of us in our enthusiasm through the pre-internet lean years of Green playing darts in his local. I recommend getting to a gig when another tour turns up - there's still something just that vital bit 'different' about the Scritti experience.

James, good to hear from you. I still have a couple of your Scritti magazines here. I can remember the artwork on your Scritti site was awesome. Stay in touch with the Dutch !

Hey James!

Good to hear from you. Too bad you missed the gigs last year. You should try to catch when, even if only for old times sake.

I do remember sitting in that pub, paying way too much for a Grolsch all too well. 8 years ago already... geez...

Keep in touch!

Firstly, a thousand apologies if I've posted this reply in the wrong place.
I stumbled across this site purely by chance and I have to say it's excellent seeing some of the old names that I used to know.
Let me explain...

About 10 years ago (I think?) I used to run one of the Scritti Politti fan sites. I started it a couple of years before Anomie & Bonhomie came out (I think), and it wrapped up about 6 or 7 years back.
If you're an old Scritti fan who used to surf the web back then, my site was the one with the Home page styled like the "Word Girl" 12" single cover.
Anyway, over the years I lost touch with things... even life (in places)... so I kinda fell out of the Scritti thing. Sure, I've got the albums but maybe I overdosed too much back then?
I remember we organised a Scritti meeting in London one evening... we had over 20 people turned up. I stayed at Steve Wright's house... Erika was there, Ellen was too... I remember meeting Richard. Wow, even Tom Morley was there. I rememebr we had put together a couple of minidiscs with Scritti songs on them for the pub to play and Tom didn't recognise the very song he played on. Man alive ! :-)
Actually, for anyone who hasn't met Tom... he's one of the kindest guys I had the chance to meet. Nice bloke 100%.

So a big "hello" to you guys! I also remember email John Hyde on many occasions but sadly never got the chance to meet you.
And I definitely remember Ellen, Richard and some of the other names who have posted to this forum.

Anyway, my reason for writing was just to say "hello"!
Hopefully some of you might remember my name. If not, no worries. :-)
A great sit you have here...
And believe it or not, I never did make it along to a Scritti gig. Maybe I'll change that soon?

Best wishes to you all,
James. x
