David Gamson has produced and co- writen the new Le Concorde album called Suite. It is a must for all Scritti-fans.

Best regards from an old scritti-fan in Norway

Thanks for that. I would not be able to tell. No experience with the Fairlight here. In Holland it was a rare device. My first sampler was a Mirage... and then the S900 etc. And the PPG.

However, you really can hear the Fairlight bits if you're used to its sound. It really appeared more as an accent device - the samples having a real lack of high frequencies that sit well within the more sparkling FM textures.

Again, counterpoint - just timbral in these instances ;)

Thank you for this. An enjoyable read ove a cup of tea this afternoon. Interesting to hear that the Fairlight was not used as much as everyone thought on C&P. You can hear the DX7 all over it but I was under the impression the Fairlight received some heavy use. You see, you can learn something new everyday ;o)

It was also interesting to hear Gamson's view on counterpoint, something that was so well used on C&P and Provision, and to stunning effect. It was those albums that fired my own personal love of the style.

Thanks again.
