Yes. Ellen is right. I have re-posted this entire article. I originally stated that the documents in the PDF associated with this article was a collection of writings that Green had made in the 80s that was to have been published into a book. When I received this content from David C I really thought that it was those long lost documents. I glanced at them and skimmed them briefly and posted them quickly before really analyzing what the content was.
Perhaps it was wishful thinking since I have been looking for the book content for years. Rumors are that it is out there! In my haste and my lack of true journalistic professionalism produced a post made incorrect claims based on my assumptions. I have re-tracted and re-posted with this version of the still very interesting content. It is simply not what I thought it was. My apologies to all.

Hi — it’s very nice to discover some interest in this old text. I just wanted to reiterate what I mentioned recently in the email query I received earlier from David Campagny, which is that this is from an interview I made with Green in London. He really is a great interview because he has an eloquent, writerly english one can transcribe and set in place. But partly in honor of the focus around the constructed voice and all, I didn’t simply use my questions and instead introduced the shifters that are there. But outside of the grammatical mistakes that reflect the expensive desktop publishing limits of my era, it’s his words. I probably even have the cassette somewhere in my archives. As a side-note, the written versions of “Word Girl” are from the Cologne scene of that moment, such as Mayo Thompson, Diederich Diederichson, Jutta Koether, Cosima von Bonin and myself.
Thanks, Fareed. It’s very cool to have the author/editor appearing here to give us the background. I do like reading interviews with Green – he sounds like such intelligent company!
