   Oh Wow!
   I’m fairly sure that this is
   a) from another copy of the cassette that I so regret not having bought in Camden market on a rare day trip to London in early 1984 …because I was a bit short of cash that day,
   and
   b) one of the items that was in an Ebay auction about six years ago that eventually sold for far more that I could pay for it.

   Many, many thanks to the anonymous donor of these recordings. At last, an early Scritti gig in digital form! You are a wonderful person and this continues to be a great website!

   Thanks, John. The unfriendly visitor clearly needs to spend some time with the early singles. The Bibbly-O-Tek/PAs/Confidence/Doubt Beat 12″ single (on the “Early” CD) and the epic 9-minute 12″ version of Faithless show Green to always (basically) have had a similar core to what he creates musically. As with songs such as Umm from Anomie & Bonhomie, the listener is always following a pure, clear and deceptively simple melody as it travels through a sometimes-massive complex of contrasting and even conflicting musical strands. For some of us who are old enough, Cupid and Psyche was the same – the high-tech glossiness was just a new structure to contain the hypnotic tunes. I found White Bread Black Beer more difficult because in some cases Green had stripped the songs down to little but the core words and melody – the layers seem to turn up instead in the ‘songs-in-sections’ such as Snow In Sun and Mrs Hughes. Don’t get me wrong though, the Gamson influence is great fun – Day Late & A Dollar Short spends many hours in my head just now!

   Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!!!! Almost five years ago, I wrote to a poster on this site who had provided an image of the sleeve for a tape containing this concert and some other live Scritti 1.0 stuff, who had stated that he did not have the means to share this music digitally. At the time I was mildly miffed, but as they say, good things come to those who wait! This concert is musically bracing from start to finish, and the rough version of “Sex” that they close with is utterly transcendental (and only slightly hilarious)! Sadly, I’m hooked on this site’s live posts, “Art Forever” rarely leaves my top 25. Got any more?

   Why is the new album not on itunes? Where can you get the new songs in the US? I can’t find them anywhere.

   David Gamson stated that it is a European release right now. I am not sure, but I think it is on iTunes in Europe.
