Those ARE indeed demos. They had very “worked-out” demos of several of the songs from Cupid.

So cool for people who are interested to be able to hear that stuff. Thank you for posting.

The alternate take of Sweetest Girl is in fact the same as the
German 7″ which also had a different picture sleeve. Being a
nutcase i had to purchase both of them ….

Yeap, found this track on the best of the British Electronic Foundation (B.E.F.) Couldn’t find it as single so bought the whole album, of which this is the best track

All good stuff, and thanks for sharing. BUT I’m 99% sure the Perfect Way (demo) is no such thing, i.e. not a demo. It IS different from (and inferior to IMHO) the first version of Perfect Way that I have on my UK Virgin C&P from 1985, but is the SAME as the version on a US Warner Bros vinyl C&P that I bought in about 1992. It’s also the same version that is on the UK Virgin CD of C&P that I bought in 2000. In other words, there have been two versions on the C&P album over the years, and this is the second one! If you listen closely you can even hear the vinyl crackles, so it’s probably not a demo…
